Any good lens will do the trick. There seems to be the conception that a certain lens can only be used for certain things - to me that's just not true. So... pick one you like.
I happen to like the 50mm f/1.8. Excellent in low light or actually any kind of light.
To me auto is a bad idea. What you're doing is allowing your fully controllable camera to make decisions for you. That's now these cameras were designed... they are fully controllable.
So, unless a certain situation dictates something different I manually set my ISO at 100 and leave it there...
Since this is your first one perhaps you should be choosing a different camera such as the
Canon t3 or the t1i.
I'm a Canon owner and this company makes excellent cameras... I recommend them highly.
You're not understanding something. Low light photography is tricky at best. To do low light with any dslr you'll have to learn either time exposure or buy a lens that meets the need.
This is an excellent camera, I know because I own one. Why would want to sell it? Need the money?
Since it's now about 7 months old I'd think around $300 with the 18-55 lens.
Maybe you and Cait are the tree-huggin, hypie type that thinks we should all be riding horses again......
J/K! Only reason I didn't say anything is because I have seen what dear can do to a car and it's occupants at 70mph! It is sad for the dear no doubt but equally disturbing for humans...
