is it possible to wire a subwoofer in this manner:

a single 4 ohm dvc sub wired to a final impedance of 2 ohms is connected to each channel of a 2 channel amplifier so that each channel sees a 2 ohm load but the amplifier is not bridged.

For example:

an amplifier has the following ratings:
100w X 2 @ 4 ohms
160w X 2 @ 2 ohms
320w X 1 @ 4 ohms (bridged and not 2 ohm stable when in bridge mode)

If my 4 ohm dvc sub is wired to 2 ohms and has each channel seeing the same 2 ohm load, will the amp put out 320w (160w from each channel) as described without any harm to the subwoofer or amp?
I know that most amps are not 2 ohm stable (as the imaginary amp given above) so I am not talking about bridging the amp to a 2 ohm load.
