Hi. Ive had this problem for about a year now. I have a K&N filter installed, but have checked the MAF sensor and intake air temp. sensor and both are functioning correctly. Each time I have the code reset, it comes back on a few days later, ususally when the engine is under some load (driving up hills or fast accelleration usually does it).

I have got the freeze frame from the last time the code came on below:

DTC: 0171
Fuel system status: open loop - Fault
Calc. load: 36.08%
Coolant temp: 183.2F/36.08C
Short term fuel trim- bank 1: 0%
long term, bank 1: 37.5%

short term trim, bank 2: -100.78% (!!!)
long term = 100.78% (same)

engine RPM 3438 rpm
speed 75 mph

To me the bank 2 fuel trims suggest a blown sensor, but I'd like some expert advice! The exaust system is new (excluding the B2HO2S) from the front outlet manifold onwards, however this part of the exaust, which has not been replaced, is heavily corroded (however I cant find any 'leaks' as such.

Ill try to get some readings from the H2O2 sensors later today, im sure last time i checked they were both giving readings which seemed normal- possibly a loose connection if this is the case?

Thanks in advance!!

ok god some readings from the o2 sensors (at idle - coolant temp
135F)
B1S1: 0.860V - 10.9%
B1S2: 0.290V - 99.2%

and readings at 1400rpm, coolant = 177F
B1S1: 0.87V
B1S2: 0.86V

(does it look like a problem with these sensors, or could it be fuel injection etc)
some readings from the MAFS:
closed loop at 800rpm: 0.351859609lb/min,2.66g/s

open loop at 1400rpm:
0.346568487lb/min,2.62g/s

open loop 2300rpm:
1.510615313lb/min,11.42g/s
