having problems with windows movie maker/windows dvd maker?

I'm making a 27 min photo slideshow with win Dvd maker
it made 5 copies then my computer starting shutting down in middle of the burning process
any suggestions?
I am using a dell laptop and memorex dvd-r
I have made many many of these before
this is the 1st time I've experienced problems
