...What does that mean? My wifi antenna on my computer offers 300 mbps and a verizon plan offers 50/20 mbps. What does that mean?

It means you are on a freeway where cars can travel as fast as 300 megabits per sec but your car can only go as fast as 50 megabits per second even if you step on the gas.

I hope that's simply enough to understand.

But is 50 mbps fast enough for you? Oh yes it is! That speed is more than the average speed we can get at my place. Watching videos and downloading stuff at that speed will never be a problem. How I wish I have that speed.
