Andy Rooney said on "60 Minutes" a few weeks back:

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, homosexual, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! **

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry behind if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else.

And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

DON'T PASS IT ON...

My 2 Cents

I agree with like 90% of that. " I think the worst thing to happen to america is the hypon(-)", I have heard this said a few time and I have always agreed 100%. Everybody wants to be a something-American. Why cant we all just be American..there a crazy idea. And i put the two astriks (**) by that one paragraph so I could say this about it. I think you should have to be able to speak english to live here...it is after all an englisj speaking country. Now with that being said if I moved to Italy, France, Germany...whatever I would learn Italian, French, German...and so on.

Anyway just wanted to share this see what all of you think about it.

After reading this I won't even bother leaving a real comment about it. Except for one: If you do bother coming to another country don't expect everybody to speak english just because you're from the US. Or treat you in a special way for the same reason. Enough said.

Christian

I agree. if you want to live in a country you must accept its culture not try to change it to suit your beleifs.and as for the Miss Black america and other groups they are in their nature racist and if ppl claim they are not, I a white scottish man want to sign up as a contestant at the next miss black america.

LOL, I have just been laughing for five minutes straight at the mental image of this.

ive probably got better legs than half the i was gona say tart but i better say empowered femalle indiviudual you know what those PC brigaders are like

Bahahah, let him sound this one off when someone he cares about gets shot by a trigger happy, idiotic cop, because they were waving a toy gun/stick around for fun.

hmm, some of it makes sense and other bits sound like they've come from the US version of mein kampf aka the republican manifesto

I disagree with these, and here's why:

1. Lots of guys are afraid of the whole "gay" thing. But only if it's two guys. When it's two women, it's called a "fantasy".

2. I notice his list of intolerances doesn't include race, yet that's really what most of his ranting is about. Interesting.

3. Police have enough problems as it is, telling them to fire on someone who is being a pain in the ass will just add more stress to the job.

Nice one Moosey. You did what most of couldn't be bothered to, and picked it apart point by point.

Having re-read it, I realise now that I was far too lenient in my comments.

The fact that he is condoning physically attacking/assaulting children in the name of "Behavior Modification" enrages me!

This is a tricky subject.

On the one hand you've got people saying that not smacking kids is just 'political correctness' or whatever. I've got to say that we were smacked as kids and it never did us any lasting harm. And when you see kids running wild it does tend to be a knee-jerk reaction that their parents should give them a hiding.

But I've known kids whose parents beat them with belts and all sorts, but it didn't make them good. It just made them try harder not to get caught!

When my son was born, his mother decided that she didn't want to ever smack him. She wanted to find other ways of dealing with things. I had my doubts, but I agreed to try it. And I'm so glad that we did. There are plenty of ways to encourage good behaviour, and if necessary to punish bad behaviour, without resorting to physical punishment.

I think that children learning to associate certain actions with immediate pain can be a useful connection to have. A toddler doesn't understand "no", without some sort of physical incentive to follow the coofftopicnd. I'm not encouraging baby shaking here, just something to make it realise it's not a good idea to do certain things, until it's old enough to understand why it's a bad idea to do certain things.
Pain wasn't invented by the evolutionary system as a way of pissing us off - it's a survival tool, and a very handy one at that. The only problem is, people being people, have learned effective ways of exploiting that tool against the user.

For very small children, the approval of their parents is very important. Making it clear that you are displeased with what they have done is a powerful tool. Obviously you need to make it clear that it is the behaviour and not them that you dislike!

Presumably you wouldn't smack a child that was too young to understand what you were saying to it?

I'm not a child psychologist and I'm not saying that bringing up children is easy. All I'm saying is that it IS possible to bring a child up right without smacking them.

Maybe I've just got a naturally perfect child! Cough...
