i cant copy a video_ts folder from a dvd, but its an impossible size, how do i...

...copy it? the disk itself is only 7.5gb but when i look at the video_ts on the disk it says its over 40gb!
wtf how is that even possible?

we did purchase the movie retail, but i wanted to make a backup as its one of our favorite movies. anyway how can i shrink this as i copy it? are the copyright protections making it lie to explorer about its size or what?
