Is it me, or is religion deeply grounded in that humans are incredibly narcissistic?

Humans are always looking for images of themselves in things, "That plug looks like a face". Humans always assume that they are exceptional, "God wanted me to be President". Humans always assume that we are on top of every other species, but nothing could be further from the truth by any measure (Numbers - bacteria, weight - termites, deadliness - viruses, effect on the planet - plankton, expansionism - tabby cats, ect).

So doesn't it stand to reason that religion is loaded with narcissistic sentiments towards humans? The Earth was made for us, animals are here for our consumption and pleasure, the Universe is here for us, we are at the center of the universe, we are in the image of God, we are privileged above angels with freewill, and so on, and so on, and so on...

Isn't it kinda sad when you think about it?

Yes indeed.

Luckily a Perfect Man in the Sky made us perfectly in His Image, and one day we will get to be perfect in His Image again and Live Forever in His Perfect Kingdom because we are the Best of all Creation, His finest work.

No room in Heaven for narcissists...
