...cables produce HD sound? My family just bought our first BD player, Sony BDP-S550. It was the best one for us, as it decodes both Dolby and DTS HD formats, and can output HD sound through 7.1 analog. We currently have our DVD player connected by digital coaxial. Our new setup would be to connect the BD player to the TV via HDMI, and to the receiver via analog audio. Why though in this case are analog cables better than optical or coaxial? Are they really that limited to DTS and Dolby Digital? One optical or coaxial cable cannot transfer lossless audio? That's better reason I can think of. How does the decoding and transferring of HD audio work between the player and receiver? Thanks.
