Will i get fined for a late MOT?

I know that if you are late to tax your car without declaring SORN then you get a penalty. But will i get a fine if i get my MOT after 12 months is up?

I took i to KwikFit last weekend and it failed on the two front tyres. The MOT does not expire until the 18th, but i don't get paid until the 19th, and am likely to get the tyres fitted and have a retest on the 20th. Aside from the unlikely event of being pulled over and fined that way, do i need to be worried?
