What are some quality headphones or earphones for a beginner audiophile?

I'm getting tired of the Apple headphones and I really want to start the lifestyle of an audiophile so what are some decent headphones or earphones to start out with?

skull candy are very good headphones. they have a wide variety of types from ear buds to headphones

Forget in ear style my friend thats just a way to sell millions of the same product. Get the dj style its only way to trap all the sound/prevent earplugs from fallin off. Get the new sonys they come in white with 2 versions, the £21 (i think) has deep bass magnets. They have metal discs on each side. . if youre image searching.
