Tip of the day: Shopping tool for COOL
[SIZE=-1]Under the new COOL rule, grocery stores will have to identify the country of origin for muscle cuts and ground beef (including veal), pork, lamb, goat and chicken; wild and farm-raised fish and shellfish; fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables; peanuts, pecans, macadamia nuts and ginseng. Most items in these categories should now have a sticker, or placard, indicating where they came from. However, there are still a few exceptions, such as mixtures of foods including fruit salad.*Take a look at our*COOL tool to find out what foods need to be labeled and what still does not.
Read more on what*country-of-origin labeling means for you,*and read Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack's letter on COOL.
