Give me some training ideas for a long distance biking trip I want to make?

I am planning on doing a bicycle trip from Baltimore, Maryland to The outer banks in North Carolina. I have already mapped out the roads to take there but I need to get in better shape. I need ideas on how to make my self ready to ride 100 miles a day. Also I need ideas on what type of touring bike I should get because the one I have now isn't that reliable for the ride I want to make.

ride lots of long sloping hills (up them not down)
lift weights
protein drinks

You need to get a bike first, visit the local bike shops. Fit is very important if you plan on riding it 100 miles a day. They only way to train is to ride as much as you can, work on distance and don't worry about your speed, it will improve over time. Later on start training with a loaded bike.
