I work for the department of energy in the area of radiation monitoring.....I currently have 5 people working for me, my staff would probably double in size if we invaded someplace like Iran.

I know in the states, jobs are almost completely at the discretion of the employer. That of course varies from state to state. Here they would simply say that your 3 month probationary period wasn't necessarily a guarantee of employment for 3 months and that you have one week to work.
