i cant log onto my neighbors internet on my new laptop...?

he gave me the password and everything. it says i'm connected but the browser wont load. vista has little time line that shows my computer connected to the wireless network and then an "x" between the network and the internet....vista says it might be a firewall issue...sorry if this is vague...any help is obviously appreciated

Maybe your neighbor has "mac address filtering" set on the router.

If this is the case then, even with the password entered, you will not be able to connect through the router - until your neighbor puts your mac address into the "allowed" list on the router.

Check this with them.

The problem could be if you have a laptop, turn your WiFi switch on. You may find it on the front of your laptop...but I'm not completely sure what you have... Why don't you Instant Message me?
