Can a Fido sim card be used with a Rogers phone?

I have a Fido phone/sim card, but I recently found a phone I really like from Rogers Wireless and I'm wondering if a Fido sim card can be used with a Rogers phone. I'm asking because Rogers bought Fido so they're technically the same company, right?

As far as I know, you need to unlock a locked phone to swap carriers.I suggest you can approach Unlock-free.com (free unlock codes for basic mobile models) or Simpleunlocking.com and remove the network lock with Rogers.Once unlocked you can swap with Fido network.
