ANY way to remove/reduce the Cigarette Stench from a vehicle?

This is a "previously owned" vehicle.
Cloth seats.
Only three years old.
A good friend bought it last month,
matter of fact,
I was with her when she test-drove it.
Neither one of us noticed this SMELL.
It had been detailed to the hilt.
It looked, seemed, even smelled,
like a practically brand new vehicle.

Whatever they used to detail it,
(it wasn't just masked by some kind of Baby Powder" scent,
or "Lemon" deodorizer..
we REALLY and TRULY didn't SMELL it in the beginning.

What is the BEST WAY to eliminate this SMOKE ODOR?

also,
we both really notice it when the air conditioner is ON.
Can that be "sanitized"..?
