Will this work?? Mixers and speakers?

Ok, im ordering a Mackie mixer and it has a power plug.
I want to plug it into a Custom speaker with no power plug. Plugging a regular amp into the speaker brings out no noise, thats why im getting the mixer. It will bring the soung out the speaker right? HELPP!
