Will my license hike my parents insurance?

I live in Florida with my parents, and I'm 19. I don't have a permit and want to get my license, but I'm not sure if it'll raise my parents' insurance rates. I won't own a car for at least a month or so, and I probably won't be driving theirs frequently, if at all. Will it affect their Progressive insurance at all? Thanks so much.

Usually yes, absolutely.

More drivers driving the car = higher chance of an accident. If one of those drivers is a newly licenced teenager, it means there's a much higher chance of an accident. If you're a guy (you didn't say), it pretty much means there WILL be an accident. Sorry, but guys (and I am one) are much more likely to crash than girls are. It's just a fact.

Yes I know you hardly ever drive, but insurance companies have all paid out huge amounts on claims for drivers who hardly ever drive so they'll crank up the rates anyway. They've heard the hardly-ever-drive thing before, and they're very experienced with it.
