it can do depends on how good your computer is you may need a better video card. the download will take a while as it will be a large file. but the bluray drive has nothing to do with software it is just so your computer can read bluray disks
if your media player will not play the format i believe vlc player will it is a freeware media player so if you look about on google you should find a download for it
