Nov 6, 2011 #1 A AlanC Member May 16, 2008 47 0 6 when i close the drawer on my dvd with a blank dvd in it, my pc shuts down.not a controlled shut down, it just goes off. no error messages on start up, it just boots normally. any ideas???

Dec 24, 2011 #3 L LaurenceI New member Dec 23, 2011 15 0 1 cd rewriting software(all sorts) have been known to seriously dislike Antivirus software. you probably have an incompatible pair. uninstall the cd rewriting software and re-install it custom, and do not install the options to mintor the drive for disk insertion. alternatively alter the default AUTORUN feature for blank disks
