why does my dog whine when squeaky toy is in her mouth?

So for christmas my 1 1/2 yr old spayed shipoo recieved a stocking full of toys. She plays with all of them a bone a rawhide a horn to chew on and a stuffed little animal . But she also recieved a small rubber chicken that squeaks. She doesn't play with it or make it squeek. She actually has the same exact kind in a much bigger version that no longer squeaks but never acted like this with that one.she smells it licks it and gently grabs it . She then whines with it and goes to lay with it. I tried taking it squeaking it throwing it to play and she reacts the same way. She is not aggresive with any of her toys or defensive including this one. But why does she do it? She looks down and sad just sitting with itand laying on it keeping it close. If we take it away she goes looking for it Everywhere, What is wrong with her?
She also at times brings it near one of us whining with it still in her mouth looking up at us?
