why does my DIVX player skip? i just updated it and it started doing this.. arrghh!!?

literally everything i watch. everything skips. BLLAAARRGH!! i thought the updates were supposed to make things better! i've been using this mac and divx player for a long time now with problems with neither. but this skipping on everything makes my divx player literally useless. i can hear everything fine but it skips literally every 2-3 seconds FOR like 2-3 seconds and i can't watch a damn thing!! fuck my computer. any advice?
 
I cant really speak to the DIVx Player or MAC's but seeing if the desired videos you are trying to view play on VLC ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html ) may be an option.

Hopefully a MAC user can be more help.
