...abandon,3.to give up on] me? Why would god leave,altogether or abandon or give up on him.?especially on the cross?

Jesus remained on the cross for only six hours as contrasted to the 48 hours for some who were murdered on crosses.The Bible indicates that the torture of His Son was so unbearable for God that He turned His attention from the event for a period of time.Jesus knew that His sacrifice was the fulfillment of Jewish teachings although most certainly the short amount of time He spent on the cross must have seemed like an agonizing length of time to Him.
