Why can't i put music and pictures on my lg shine?

every time i try to put music or pictures on here, it says that the write protection has to be removed first. how can i remove it?

i don't know if this might be the case but i use a flashdrive to put the music on first, then transfer whatever is in it to my memory card.. and thats when i get the pop up that says the write protection must be removed. any help please?
