why are the conservatives bad for the environment?

i gotta pick a subject for a project and i want to write something about Harper/the conservatives and how they're shitty when it comes to the environment and they gotta pick up their act. but i have very little knowledge about politics and this stuff so i would appreciate a little help to start off. just some basic info so i know what im getting myself into. please i'll appreciate it a lot
