Why are mercedes benz oil changes a lot?

Most Merc engines hold 7qt of oil cost about $9.50 a qt and recommend Mobil 1 oil. $66.50 plus $12,00 new filter= $78.50 not including tax and dealer mark up. High end cars like these maintenance is usually higher cost than most cars.
