what kind of car audio amp should i buy?

I'm going to buy 2 12" Alpine Type-R's for my 2004 dodge dakota. they push out 4 ohms/500w RMS/1500 Watt peak power (tell me if im wrong but im sure thats per sub right? link for info --> http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7057383&type=product&id=1108124880979 )

I need to find out what amp i should buy. I want to spend around $300.00 for a nice, good quality, amp. i know alpine and rockford put out nice amps, and i should buy one that has 1000w rms power @ 4 ohms or 2 ohms? and 3000w peak power right? i'm sort of confused. suggestions?

yes they are 500 rms a piece.
so get an amp that puts out 1000rms.

or get 2 amps that put out 500 rms
