I've spent an hour on the phone with both my isp and the anti-virus software people. They are both pointing the fingers at each other to blame for the problem I'm having. I have a DSL connection and my connection is fine with my wireless laptop, it's my desktop thats having issues. I checked with the isp and everything was connected and good working order and said that its a problem with McAfee. Contacted McAfee and went through the process of even stopping all services through them and my internet still wouldn't connect. When I diagnose the problem, it comes up with this:
Cannot connect to internet explorer.
Then when I diagnose it, it says:
Windows cannt connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FPT. This is probably caused by firewall settingss on this computer. Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port80, HTTPSport443 and FTP port21.
My desktop is a windows XP.
Can anyone help me find a solution? I'm tempted to take it to Geek Squad at Best Buy, but I want that to be my last resort.
Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
