What is the difference between the tax hikes and the payroll tax cut expiration?

Does everyone have to pay more through the tax hikes, and who all is affected by the payroll tax cut expiration?

you had a 2% cut in the SS rate withheld for over a year now/that was allowed on Jan 1 to return

to its normal level, so it wasnt a tax hike per se..a hike would've taken it beyond the current rate and

withheld even more than now..but you did lose the benefit of the extra spending money and its a

shame people got used to it cuz it was temporary to get the economy rolling again.

and yah...the 2% hit everyone that gets a payck and has SS with held.....it returns to its normal rate
