what and where should I get a fish?

Im going to get a fish for my science project, but I want one that will last over a year or so because im giving it to my science teacher who will keep it after the fair, I unfortunately can't keep it because I have a cat, but anyways, what type of fish should I get and where should I get it? I live in toronto btw.

well you should get the clown fish because it is cute and it is the same type of fish as nemo. where to get from the pet store of this really big one called "petco".
