Volume and videos on itouch 1g are not working?

i dropped my itouch in water one time and i took it out and i charged it. i left it for several months and i started working again. i was able to download apps and i could suf the internet. i cant watch any videos and whenever i try it always says this movie cannot be played. i could change the volume from high to low but no sound comes out at all so i cant even listen to music. how should i fix this
