The puck flew in the air. Vincent Lecavalier of the Philadelphia Flyers tracked its trajectory with his eyes, as it started to descend back to the ice.*
He wanted to clear it back into the Calgary Flames’ zone, away from the boards. So the veteran forward took a wild chop at the puck with his stick.
Alas, he apparently missed the fact that his teammate Brayden Schenn’s face would be located at the end of that wild swing.
Ouch:

Just … ouch.*
Schenn was OK after taking Vinny’s stick to the face in the second period on Thursday night, taking multiple shifts in the third period.
As for Lecavalier … hey, at least he used his stick on something this season.
