Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S keeps randomly freezing?

I have had my phone for about 3 months now, it was android upgradeable to 4.0 so i upgraded it as soon as i got it basically.
worked fine and froze the odd few times, but its getting more and more regular, it started doing it every day, and now, well it froze 3 times today and i have had to take the battery out and put it back in to restart it as otherwise it is totally not responsive. it has also started to run slow too.

i noticed that at the beginning it was when i unplugged it from charge, but now its just whenever. when i open my messages, or photos, or even when i just try and unlock it!

i have a few apps, but i dont think they are causing this as i checked them all before even installing them.

any ideas to why this is happening and how it can be solved.
its extremely annoying!

i have had 3 expria phones and had that issue with all of them,, if you take it back to the store they will reset the firmware for you, but i would be getting a new phone (not sony) but android is the best!
