Social anxiety and humour?

Because of moderate social anxiety, I feel like I can't find things that other people say funny even if I normally would. I almost got used to faking a laugh but I hate that it's not genuine. As a result, I've become accustomed to laughing/chuckling at things people say a bit excessively. As in, if someone is telling a joke, I begin laughing a bit as they're telling it when I don't even exactly know what's funny just because of this comfort I find with laughing at other peoples remarks that are intended to be funny.
However, I understand I wouldn't normally laugh at everything everyone says just because not everything is actually that funny in reality. How can I change this?
