As a Nebraska law (LB 1103) takes effect today banning abortions after 20 weeks' gestation based on the argument that fetuses can feel pain, Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) is pushing for another federal debate on the concept of "fetal pain," the AP/Google News reports. Johanns recently reintroduced legislation (S 14) that would require women seeking abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy to be told that the fetus could feel pain.
