Rogers iPhone -- I have free browsing, but I need internet connection! :(?

So, I got an iPhone a few weeks ago. I am with Rogers (plan, not pay as you go), and I have a texting plan so I have free browsing. However, with the iPhone, you need a data plan or internet connection? Can I use free browsing AS a data plan? Or is there a way I can make it so free browsing works (meaning I can use the internet without wireless) ? I'm confused
What if I DON'T have access to wireless? That's what my question is.
