I really want to watch some Resident Evil. But after another stupid error to direct me to download a pointless piece of software called DivX codec. I have been driven nuts.

Details:

1. I have looked at the site to find that I can only download the standalone version for the WEB installer, why the hell would I be looking for the Web installer? I have barely enough internet bandwidth and speed to download the DivX in the first Place.

2. I have a Windows Vista, trying to watch Resident Evil on Windows Media player.

3. I will not download off a non-trusted site eg. "downloadzfast.cocc.enjinn.ssn"

Download k-lite codec mega pack codecguide.com/download instal and then you can use windows media player to play any format so you won't have to worry about it.

Don't download anything.
First get VLC Player, this player plays all the formats(every format)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc/
Install it and play it via VLC.

1.Do not download any other software
2.Windows Media Player requires codec and so the player can't play popular format

Trusted software and website.
