Please help me I need to transfer Mp4 dvd to Android?

I have a mp4 dvd and I want to transfer them to my Android phone from my laptop. I need very detailed instructions. I am completely ignorant as to how I can do this. Thanks in advance.
Samsung Galaxy 3 and LG Fusion are the phones I have. I didn't know its different methods on each phone. Thanks.

well if you said specifically what phone you had i could answer this but since most android devices have different software based on age, i'm afraid i can be of no assistance to you at this time.
