It's a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.7L TBI engine.
Okay, my oil pressure gauge is showing I'm only at 10 psi at idle and about 25 when going down the road. It twitches at random moments as well. What I'm curious about is how do you know if they are going bad or what not? I don't have the time or money to get the real time oil pressure checked and I'm almost sure that it's not due to engine wear or anything because it's only got 115,000 miles on it. I've seen these engines go 400,000 miles and the oil pressure stayed right at 40 psi under load and 20 at idle.
I've also seen these truck's oil pressure gauge stop working completely. I'm wondering if they wear out or just stop working completely all at once. Anything anyone knows about this will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
