My iphone 3g isnt working...help!?

My mum gave me her iphone 3g, the battery had been dead for a few months so i plugged it into the charger and it turned on but when i updated it it wont turn back on properly it just comes up with the apple then the restoring thing then back to the apple thing and repeats over and over. what do i do??

The 3G is VERY old they have been around for about 7 years now, in fact im pretty sure they do not even make them anymore.

To be honest, I would just look into getting a new phone you can get a newer one like 3GS or 4G for low cost.

I know it doesnt really answer how to fix the issue, but in my honest opinion its probably better to just buy a new phone by the time you send it to get fixed or have to buy Apple Care.
