My Engine is making weird clunking noises what could it be?

This morning I wanted to run my car to get it warmed up. So I lodged a broom in there to keep the gas pushed down and finished getting ready to leave. I came back about 20 min later and it was making a weird clanging noise. I got in and it was making noise just sitting there so I reved it again to see if that would fix the prob and all I got was a few large clanging sounds and the car quit and will not start. Could it maybe just be that my starter is shot?

Your starter? Your starter has nothing to do with the engine running. Sounds like you either ran it with not enough oil in it, or over reved it with the stupid broom stick stunt. Put money on it you blew the motor. get a new motor and reuse the starter with it!
