looking for girls toys but dont seem to find any interesting?

may just be because i'm a guy and i see things as being too babyish for my three year old i am constatly looking at things that look interesting to me (IE: blocks, dinosaurs, and other things along with that.) but to her all of those things seem to just be borring. does anyone have a good idea on what to try for her?
 
Best learning toys for my 8 years son?

Can anybody recommend some good learning toys OR DVD for learning letters and numbers? Although my son is doing well but it seems he still need some helps. So please recommend best Learning Toys for him. Your any input would be highly appreciated.
