i bought an env touch a few days ago from a family member who upgraded to a new droid. phone sat in a shoebox for almost a year and is in almost brand new condition. went today to get service with verizon, and as soon as i get it activated, the touch screen stops working. not responding to my touch at all. cant calibrate or anything. tried restoring to default and taking battery out. scared to do a factory reset, not sure what it means when it says it'll need to be reprogrammed, or if it'll even help. and now whenever i turn it on after taking the battery out, the calibrate screen stuff appears automagically. any help would be appreciated. and again, like new inside and out, and never has been dropped.
