The Kentucky Health and Welfare Committee has rejected a prescriptive bill (SB 38) that would have required abortion providers to perform an ultrasound and offer the woman a chance to view the image before the procedure, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports (Yetter, Louisville Courier-Journal, 2/26). According to the bill text, the physician or an ultrasound technician would have been required to describe the image in detail, including "the dimensions of the embryo or fetus and the presence of external members and internal organs, if present and viewable" (Bill text, 3/1)...
