The Utah Jazz needed a starting point guard. While Devin Harris is a solid player, he is better suited as a backup. To fill that void, the Jazz acquired Mo Williams from the Los Angeles Clippers in a four-team trade. Williams will step into a starting gig with Utah.

The rest of the deal has Lamar Odom going to the Clippers, Furkan Aldemir going to the Houston Rockets and Tadija Dragicevic headed to the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs will also receive cash in the swap.

Williams is a former All-Star who averaged 13.2 points and 3.1 assists last season in 28.3 minutes per game. He shot 42.6% from the field and 38.9% on three-pointers. He also drained 90% of his free throws.

This will be a type of homecoming for Williams since he was drafted by the Jazz and played there for one season back in 2003-04.
