Is using 2 speakers good for audio listening (audiophile)?

I can't think of a reason to use more than 2 speakers unless at the minimum a super audio cd was involved. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think additional speakers other than the tower speakers are needed for music listening.

2 speaker is not nice instead you should have 5.1 if you are using a computer not in laptop

Finally someone who shares my view. I see sound systems with 8 speakers & am like what the...! Extra speakers are meant to be put in seperate rooms in a house not in one living room.!!
