I have recently completed the complete edit of my Young Adult Science Fiction manuscript and, following a lengthy investigation into what getting an agent entails, have gotten a bit confused over the recommended length (and even purpose) of a synopsis. I have written one that does not mention any absolutely non-necessary periphery characters, and still follows only the most important story threads, but (sorry if this sounds pretentious) the complexity of the book has yielded 5 pages.
