If I get a new hard drive for my laptop do I have to get a new copy of windows?

I am running out of space on my laptop and want to get a bigger one. If i put in the new hard drive will I lose windows and all the programs?

yes, you will lose everyting. but if you already have a copy of windows (a cd) you don't need to get a new one. just install that one and activate it.

There are programs specially designed to transfer everything from one drive to another. Just Google "drive image" or something like that and you'll find a lot of info on how to do it.
