...bought and it just died, why? When I bought the car the temperature light was on and she told me it was a bad sensor, they had it checked. However not even 3 weeks after buying it I was driving down the hwy and the light turned red. I knew I needed an oil change and was actually on my way to get one, I tried to pass the car in front of me and my car wouldn't accelerate. When i got back behind the car and went to pull over, all my lights came on and my brakes locked up. It just died!! My steering wheel didn't lock up though? Any one have any ideas to what would be wrong with it?

First thought is FUEL PUMP! If it quit working, the engine stalls (quits running) and will cause all the dash lights to light. Check the fuel pressure and make sure its within spec. If not, suspect fuel pump!
